5 months, is it time for a high-five?

Another month, and another milestone achieved. Today, AvidAmy.com celebrates our 5th month-a-versary! Woohoo! (Well, it’s technically a one woman run operation run by the blog’s namesake — Amy, that’s me!) I couldn’t have gotten this far without you guys. You guys are the sole reason why I’ve continued this blog.

I cannot believe how much success we’ve had over the last 5 months. It’s truly mind-boggling; and every day, I’m learning something new. Click “Read More” to view my thoughts:

5 months, is it time for a high-five?

Since I launched this blog to the public on January 21, 2013, this blog has become my passion. The marketing aspect, the designing aspect, the writing aspect, and everything else that comes with owning a blog was confusing at first — almost as if it were a foreign language. In the past, my previous blogs had failed… simply because I didn’t know how to market myself. I didn’t even know how to purchase hosting as well as domain name, and the thought of learning HTML, CSS, and PHP coding really rattled my brain.

When I was younger, I thought to myself, “How can I learn computer language, when I still have difficulty wrapping my brain around Science?” As I grew older, I FINALLY figured out that NOTHING should or will hinder me from stepping outside of my boundaries. All it took was some research on Google & YouTube to learn how to properly code and design my own website. All it took was effort, patience, and good comprehension skills to learn exactly how to create a website, and MAINTAIN a website.

Not only have my coding skills improved, my writing skills have improved as well. I’ve learned to temper my excitement, and drastically improve my writing style. I’ve learned to incorporate a bit more personality into my posts so that you can actually “hear” my writing. I’ve finally developed my writing style as a blogger and also as an article writer.

For each and every one of my entries, I approach it like so: I want the reader to actually engage and “hear” my post… sort of like a one-on-one conversation — but through text, not voice. I hope that makes sense!

Also, my pageviews have skyrocketed through the roof!!! I cannot, for the life of me, wrap my brain around the fact that complete strangers have taken time out of their busy days to read my posts! Who am I to have this much recognition? Who am I? I’m just a blogger who LOVES to blog about entertainment and sports. I am not a celebrity — not even a celebrity blogger like Perez Hilton.

Everyday, I am just speechless and in awe because of AvidAmy.com! THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!! I don’t know how else to thank you — besides saying thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you. For me, as a 23-year-old freelancer to receive this much recognition, I am so grateful for it.

Just yesterday (June 20, 2013), I received a record breaking number of pageviews just on that DAY alone: 1,529.  Just five months ago, this blog didn’t even exist. It was only supposed to be an experiment…. and now — five months later — my blog is now inching towards 60,000 views overall thus far. In fact, we’re about to reach 30,000 views just for the month of June alone. Wow.  o) ^_^ (o

All of those sleepless nights and massive amounts of dedication are paying off. We even have people from ALL OVER THE WORLD visiting this blog — including Great Britain, Canada, Japan, Israel, Portugal, China, South Korea, Turkey, Ireland, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Australia, Germany, Phillippines, Singapore, Brazil, New Zealand — just to name a few.

And now my final question to you is: What else would you like to see on this blog? Would you like to see more TV, more Movies, more Sports, or even more Technology? Please let me know in the comments below.

I will now end this post with a virtual high-five and a virtual hug. Hug your computers and high five your computers for me. 😀

Yours Truly,
Amy aka “Ames”
